2025 re-read: This might be my favourite book in the series. The depth of characters, slow pacing and complexity of the world make it such an enjoyable read!

I really enjoyed the second book of The Bone Season series much more than the first one. Really understanding the world and everything going on made it more enjoyable. Also, I loved how we got to get so much more world building done through Paige’s reintroduction in the Underworld. I also liked Paige a lot more in the second book. Her and Warden’s relationship was such a nice sub plot as well. 

Lastly, the last 50 pages of this book had me GAGGED! Samantha really said plot twist. I can’t wait to read the next one.
