Loved this book! This was a page turner of a book and one of the best thrillers I’ve read recently. The story and pacing was excellent throughout, and it didn’t fall into a convoluted mess as the story built up, which can so often be the case with thrillers. It kept my attention and understanding throughout, and I found the characters relatable and likeable as well. Will now need to discover the rest of this author’s books!

This is the smartest psychological thriller I’ve read in a while. The characters are intelligent, the story line is lightning fast and twisty as hell. I really enjoyed reading this book!
What a brilliant debut! Congratulations!!! I can’t wait to see what else Alex Finlay brings us!!!

It was so intriguing at the beginning, and then it just went downhill.
Far too long. It tried to do too much by amping up drama with peripheral characters.
This book had me hooked from the first moment. I am a complete sucker for stories told through multiple perspectives and multiple points in time, and this book had it all. Not to mention a cast of characters that I thought was excellent and fun, albeit not the most relatable for me. The prose was excellent and extremely compelling, and I was always on edge wanting to see what happened next.
The only thing that was a bit of a letdown was the ending. Without giving too much away, I felt a little cheated almost. I liked it, but it somehow simultaneously felt predictable, and out of nowhere at the same time. Even if I went and reread the book, I dont think there were many clues about the reveal. Not all books need this, and that is more of a mystery thing than a thriller thing, but this book had enough mystery that a part of me expected some hints throughout.
That being said, overall I loved this book. Matt was an excellent primary character, and I loved Agent Keller even more than I loved Matt. Following the story was riveting, and each chapter ended on a cliffhanger of sorts. The fact that nearly each chapter changed POV also meant I had to read on multiple chapters to see where the last character I was focused on had ended.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who's interested in a psychological thriller or a family based thriller book. A great debut novel overall!

This is one of those rare psychological thrillers that genuinely hooks you in from the very first page up until the last paragraph. I love how the author gives you a lot of information, yet you have no clue what is going on until the 75% mark. Keeps you guessing throughout and that is how it wins you over despite its slow pace. A fantastic debut!

I listened to this on audiobook and while the narration was good, there were two narrators and some of the accents seemed inconsistent between the two of them.
