This book was absolutly fantastic!!! I loved every bit of it!! I saw a TikTok by the author and the words "Assassin Wendy + Smut" really did it for me.

I didn't really know what to expect because I'd never read a Peter Pan retelling, but it surpassed my expectations for sure. All the changes made it feel as a completly diferentes story while still mantaining the essence of the original tale.

I was completly hooked from the very beginning and there were some parts when I couldn't put the book down.

The tension between Peter and Wendy was breath-taking and their relationship felt much more mature as they are oldee than in the original.

AND JAMES!!! ASDJGLHÑ I LOVE YOU!!

Who ever would’ve thought I’d need a spicy Peter Pan? Well, [a:K.J. Sutton|18961442|K.J. Sutton|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1637620607p2/18961442.jpg] definitely did and she did not disappoint!

In [b:Straight On 'Til Morning|58055359|Straight On 'Til Morning|K.J. Sutton|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1621137265l/58055359._SY75_.jpg|90985979], Wendy Davenport and her family are struggling to make ends meet. Her mother has shut down and father has turned to drinking. With only herself and a few maids left, she has to care for her dying brother and the rest of her family. Peter comes along one night and changes everything. Wendy is awakened and soon after, a woman comes to her asking Wendy to kill him for her. If she does, no one will ever know the family’s circumstances and she’d take care of everything. Wendy goes with Peter to Neverland with the intention of killing him to save her family. But can she do it?

I loved that this was based on Peter Pan but totally a story of its own. There were so many characters and situations that seemed familiar but were also different. Let’s not forget the spicy actions that make you get a little hot, thrusted into your imagination from the start.

I was pulled into Wendy’s world from the start and was met with lots of themes such as growing up, letting go, strength, purpose, having courage, doing what’s best vs doing what’s right, and of course love. Ultimately this is a love story with some action, adventure, and magic!

My only problem is that it ended. I want to know what happens next in Miss Wendy Davenport’s world. I hope there is a sequel to this amazing rendition of Peter Pan!

I’d recommend this to any who’s ever wanted a slightly aged up version of Peter Pan or anyone looking for a fantasy adventure with some romance.

Peter Pan and smut? Do they go together? I'm still not 100% sure. I don't think I'll ever be sure... but I can respect the attempt.

I absolutely lost it when they were flying though. Hilarious. IYKYK.

**** I was given this book by Voracious Readers Only****

I am so glad that I was given this book and chose to make it my first read of 2022! It was an overall great story following Wendy in her journey to save her family. It was a perfectly twisted version of the Disney classic Peter Pan. I honestly wish it had been longer so I could experience neverland a bit more. The only thing I did not like was the strange sensual stuff in the beginning. I found it very oddly placed and kind of unnecessary, but that is just considering my own personal taste and opinion! Overall great read and was hard to put down, I flew through it and was sad to finish it.

||This is what it means to grow up, Peter,” I said finally. “To recognize our mistakes and bear the weight of them. All we can do is try to be better.”||

Growing up, I loved Peter Pan, and this retelling is a wonderful twist. This story focuses on Wendy and her growth beyond the confines of 19th century womanhood-- and what an amazing protagonist she is! In this book she is a feminist icon.

This story delves into what it means to grow up as you're on the cusp of adulthood, not a child afraid of growing up. It's wild, brutal, and powerful.

I have received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.

I was drawn to this book immediately. Rewriting fairytales is something that I love. In Straight on Til Morning, there’s a warning page in the beginning before you start, which I think is nice. Keeping that in mind, it still took me by surprise with what happened between Wendy and Peter.

When it came to the Lost Boys, their names are confusing in a way that makes it seem like a typo in a sentence. For example, Nose, Slightly, and Housekeeper. Despite that, it's nice to see them have names since I can't remember if the Disney version gave them names.

There was a lot going on in this book and it kind of felt like the plot was going everywhere. KJ Sutton is definitely a great writer though and I felt very immersed.
