I don't know what to say about this book.

If you want something easy, that you could easily skip a few pages and still know what is going on, a beach read, or just a way to kill some time without using brain cells; then yes read this book.

If you want your characters more developed that do not describe women like objects then do not read this book.

Wonderful book, teasing thrilling and keeps you coming back for more. It starts off slow, but boy does it build up. Absolutely love Gregg Hurwitz. Definitely my best author so far.

Jason Bourne for the 21st Century. Orphan X tells the story of Evan Smoak, a child plucked from the streets of Baltimore and put in the Orphan program - a black budget, black ops program that trains agents assassinate enemies of the state. No one knows about this program except the Orphans, who don't know each other, and their handlers.

Evan, Orphan X, has left the program and dedicates himself to helping people in trouble who no where else to turn. He helps a girl and her sister escape a sinister LA cop. Then the trouble begins. Add to the mix, his nosey neighbors and you get a high octane thriller.

I loved this book. It was full of unexpected plot twists and action. The back cover flap said that it was being adapted for the big screen by the author for a big studio and Bradley Cooper. I can see Bradley Cooper as Evan. I can see this book as a movie. But the movie will have to work hard to live up to Gregg Hurwitz' fabulous writing.

I won this book from Goodreads and received no other compensation for my review. The opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.

It was okay. I feel it should have been a novella not a full length novel, for the main plot was good but the side stories felt like unnecessary detail, in fact is felt like TOO MUCH! and some what chaotic.

Sadly it was a case of Men-Writing-Women, it was not the worse I've read in relation to that, but still it's sad because the author is actually good.

Evan Smoak dispenses some serious vigilante justice, but ends up fighting for his life against an unknown power. Lots of action, lots of suspense, lots of cool spy technology. Not generally a fan of this genre, but this book is well-written and the characters are well-developed and sympathetic.
