Wow!! The twists and turns in this book had me gripped! Couldn’t wait for the evening to come round to grab my book and relax. This is my favourite Claire Douglas book to date, and that’s saying something as I haven’t read a bad one. A must read!!

I enjoyed this book and liked the suspense of the killer’s point of view intertwined. I enjoyed Una, Willow and the surprising elements of both those characters. It did seem to drag a bit at times and seemed like it was over when a quarter of the book was left. Overall I recommend reading it, although it’s not a realistic story.

Claire Douglas delivers another gripping psychological thriller with "Just Like The Other Girls". Una, a new carer for the elderly Elspeth, finds herself plunged into an unsettling domestic situation. The imposing house feels oppressive, and Elspeth's daughter, Kathryn, is both distant and controlling, making Una question her welcome.
From the outset, an eerie atmosphere pervades the narrative, leaving the reader on edge. Douglas masterfully employs suspense, with unexpected twists and turns that constantly shift the reader's understanding of events. The pacing is impeccable, keeping the reader hooked and constantly guessing.
The mystery deepens as Una discovers unsettling clues suggesting that two previous carers may have met with misfortune. This adds a chilling layer to the story, raising questions about what truly happened to those women and what fate awaits Una.
Kathryn's icy demeanour and her apparent reluctance to have Una around fuel suspicions. Is she genuinely concerned about her mother's well-being, or is she harbouring a darker secret? Could she be jealous of the growing bond between Una and Elspeth?
Douglas expertly maintains the tension throughout, culminating in a shocking and unpredictable ending that will leave readers breathless. This book is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and anyone who enjoys a suspenseful and chilling read. The atmosphere and the characters are so well-developed that it's easy to imagine this story translated into a captivating film. A highly recommended read for fans of Claire Douglas and anyone who enjoys a gripping and suspenseful thriller.

A little boring for my taste. Had trouble staying engaged with the story. Ending was underwhelming and predictable.
