His nickname for her gave me the ick. The book was very rushed and you don't get time to even start to like the characters. Netti is extremely cliché and easily forgettable. Conner is a douche canoe and stays that way. I donlove this authors other books and highly recommend Sky of Thorns.

Short but so sweet!
Despite its short size it didn't feel rushed, likely because it focused on a short time frame. I enjoyed the characters and the setting and the slight magical elements.

This book was so cozy and adorable! It's short and sweet (forgive the pun), I read it in one sitting and adored it. I was originally drawn in by the cover-I saw it on Threads and just HAD to have it immediately. I love an illustrated cover, especially fantasy-esque ones. Also, magic and sweets, yes!
I normally shy away from insta-love/lust because I like a slow burn, however I think DeVillainy pulled off a believable flashbang here. There is some fated mate lore that helps it along, but the characters have an instant chemistry despite starting out in an enemies-to-lovers dynamic (also very difficult to pull off in shorter stories!). I was rooting for them right away, and couldn't tear myself from it for a second.
The writing is tight, lending just enough atmosphere to set scenes and build personality and swept me through the whole thing in one afternoon. Absolutely lovely way to spend a snowy day with a mug of hot chocolate (and a scone perhaps?).
