It tells the story of Alice after she climbs through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world while chasing a talking white rabbit.  The tales focus on themes of nonsense and logic. As it turns out Alice awakens and you come to find that you too have experienced the imaginings in her dreamland.

I knew of Alice in Wonderland, perhaps because Disney once animated it, but I had never read the book. I’m not sure what I think of it. The characters were curiously fun, but the dialogue was so nonsensical it became a bit of a chore to read. Maybe a younger audience would be pleased by the rhyming?! I mean, I never did get the appeal of the Teletubbies either, perhaps it is merely a developmental stage.

Jeg vil sige: stabil børnebog, den bedste, jeg har læst (ud over ‘Sørens Gris’, shout out). Hvis man er i en reading slump, så kan den her bog virkelig hjælpe, fordi den er så lige til og letlæselig.
I ‘Through the Looking-Glass’ følger strukturen et skakspil, hvilket, jeg syntes, var ret kreativt, og det fungerer godt.
Men altså i og med at det er en børnebog, så er the stakes very low (onnn the floor) – så der er ikke så meget spænding, og det er ikke sådan at siderne bare vender sig selv, fordi det er så spændende.
Hvis jeg nogensinde skal læse godnathistorie for et barn, bliver det den her.
