As enjoyable as a romance novel can get. I felt completely involved in Mr. Hunt and Annabelle's story, although nothing will replace in my heart the awesomeness that was Sebastian St.Vincent and Evie.

This book was okay. I'm beginning to think historical romances or maybe just this author isn't for me. I like the wallflowers, but I didn't really like Simon. I also don't really like the unrealistic aspects of these books - innocent girls who've never had sex, don't know anything about sex, don't even know how it works, somehow find a man, go to bed with him, think it's amazing and they've never had anything better and then fall madly in love with the man.
I also found the pacing of this a bit too slow. I don't think there was enough romance in it for me.

Primera parte oficial de Las Florero y ha sido una grata sorpresa.
Annabelle es la primera protagonista de esta saga, y está buscando esposo. Ya lo tendría si no fuera porque no tiene dote. En aquella época, no tener dote significaba no tener nada prácticamente. Su familia está en la ruina y la forma de resurgir y de volver a posicionar a su familia, es casarse con un hombre rico. Y ahí es donde entra Simon, que siempre ha sentido algo por ella.
Esta saga iba con las expectativas un poquito bajas tras el pequeño chasco del libro de La Antigua Magia (que ahora mismo, si pudiera, le daría 3 estrellas). Pero ha sido toda una sorpresa.
Desde el minuto 1 he estado muy enganchada y entretenida, y las páginas se me han pasado volando (más de una vez he estado tentada en saltarme las tandas de la Lectura Conjunta).
Annabelle me ha gustado mucho como personaje, su forma de pensar es algo controversial, pero yo la he logrado entender en todo momento. Simon también me ha gustado mucho, sobre todo ese tira y afloja y esa tensión que ha habido entre ellos.
Lo que menos me ha gustado es que había momentos, sobre todo en la mitad del libro, que parecía que la trama no terminaba de avanzar, y que el final me ha resultado un tanto precipitado.
Y lo que más, LAS FLORERO EN SÍ. 4 chicas que se unen para buscar marido y buscárselo a sus compañeras. Esa hermandad que está aflorando y que seguro que se va a ver más adelante, me ha gustado mucho, mucho.

Wow this book got really real re: being a woman in the regency era whose marital prospects determine the future for her family. As always, men as a group are trash. Also our heroine just allowing a certain reputation in order to keep a secret? So noble I love her. And I love the friendgroup! Such a great clear set up to all four books I’m so invested.
The reality and vague threat of not marrying for love makes it all the sweeter when we see Annabelle and Simon actually fall in love (of course). And the love is GOOD y’all. Like I’ll do anything for you, I’ll help you hide the body, run into burning buildings type of love.
