I liked the characters in the book, but did not necessarily like the character driven chapters. It was a lot to keep up with. I’d rather the story just focus on Bea the entire time with more detail. I was really hooked in the beginning of the book with her passage from London and staying with the Gregory’s. I def got disappointed with some of the characters actions by the end of the story.

Loved it. Beautiful and lyrical, poignant coming of age novel about love and loss, healing and grace. Loved the audio version

Even though it's a historical fiction with World War II as a background, even though the story is not without loss and heartbreak, at the core, this is a book about love. Love between parent and child, among biological and found families, between partners, and for a place that one belongs. If you are looking for actions, grand adventures, and espionage, this is not it. This is a gentle story about a vivid cast of characters who are capable of self reflection and growth.

Historical fiction lovers, this is a must add to your TBR. Bea finds herself in Maine following the war in Europe. I loved the tones of heartache and forgiveness throughout.

Such a surprisingly good book! I’m not really one who reaches for the historical fiction, but this book has changed that. I thought because there were 5+ povs, it was going to be really hard to follow, but the story flowed really nicely. Definitely recommend to any fans of Normal People and also gave me the same feeling of The Summer I Turned Pretty, in a more grown-up, World War II way.

Hello, Beautiful, but set in Boston. Ugh, so good.

"We love people for all sorts of different reasons and in all sorts of different ways... Remember that. And it only gets better, the older you get. Young love isn't necessarily the best love."
