A fast-paced, no-nonsense page turner. Goes from dour rural elegy to a blood-soaked vampire hoedown in no time whatsoever. The trials and tribulations of working class West Virginia collide head on with vicious, feral vampires and there's no breathing room whatsoever. Don't get too attached to any one particular character. Just enjoy this head-ripping, bloodsucking, ankle-biting blast of a novella while it lasts.

A fun very fast paced novella about vampires. While hunting for the perfect hideaway for a get rich quick scheme a family of male cousins encounter a very small cave opening they will pretty quickly wish they'd never left their houses nevermind the edge of the cave mouth.

A very fun, quick reading vampire book. Pretty action packed. The kindle version also includes two cool short vampire stories, both of which I enjoyed.

The vampire book I've been waiting for. They are mean and vicious. Nothing sweet and romantic here. Scary, ugly sons of bitches. Lots of blood and running. Also you get 2 short stories with a vampire theme at the end. This book is worth your time.

Yeah this is dumb

“Blood is thicker than water they say. But it flows like water, I can tell you that.”

A group of friends in West Virginia get the idea to start a meth lab. They go to explore a promising area for the brave start up and end up with more than they bargained for. Vampires!!!

Unfortunately I will not be recommending this novella to anyone. There are way too many characters that are way too interchangeable. Character deaths had no impact and the plot had so many holes it looked like a road from my home town. And don’t even get me started on the exposition dumps you have to endure at what are meant to be tense moments.
Keene, as always, ends his story in a bleak manner. However it’s not an bleakness that can be digested for deeper meaning but rather a lazy “an then this happened and then this happened” affair.
