Based on all the raving reviews and the blurb I was expecting to love this book. I was so ready for an emotional story, but I just couldn’t connect to the characters at all. The beginning was really strong and I liked the setting of the story. I dnf’ed it around the 60% mark, because there wasn’t anything happening and I miss dialogue between the characters. I just don’t care for the characters and the plot twist that still needs to happen. For me this book just didn’t work, which is a bummer. Maybe I will try another book by this author in the future, because they do sound interesting
I liked the book, I read it in just one day. And years ago I read her Johnny be good series and I have a fond memory of it.
I just don't get what happened with the pace at the end? The whole book has a slow pace (which is totally fine with me) and then it ends quite abruptly and in the epilogue there are a lot of things happening very fast, like ???? I don't get it
But the rest of the book is great, very slow burn but good.

This was enjoyable and heartbreaking all at once. I definitely shed a lot of tears, but the entire book didn't feel heavy so it was a good balance. I think the "twist" will make or break it for people depending on how they feel it was handled. I will try more from this author!
I’m torn between 4 and 5 stars for this. I loved the characters and how their flaws were so real. How the author doesn’t shy away from asking them realise their own flaws throughout the book too. It was definitely an emotional read at times but not the tear jerker I was expecting after reading some other reviews.
I think this is Paige’s best one yet.
The amount of research this author puts into each novel. But especially of recent. This particular one I feel took a different turn within her genre compared to previous novels. For starters, this novel is set between America and the UK. Usually it is Australia.
The fact that the main character has been dumped and falls for a complicated man not technically an affair compared to actual affairs Toon usually writes about.
This novel did come from a warm angle.
This is a slow burn that will have you wanting to know more.
I loved every single character and their personalities and watching everyone grow. Wren, her dad, the discoveries between him, Sheryl, Bailey and Casey. Jonas and Anders relationship with each other as brothers and with their parents. And all the others.
I liked the detail at the end with the whole epilogue of every character.
Very well written, I really enjoyed this one.
Thank you to the publishers for sending this in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Wren is a 30-something British-American who goes to Indiana to visit her father after a failed relationship and broken engagement.
I enjoyed the family dynamics between Wren, her father, stepsister, and stepmother. There was a lot of growth between the characters and I loved reading about that aspect.
I struggled somewhat with the love story between Wren and Anders. I didn’t totally “feel” it and the plot twist towards the end seemed to come out of nowhere. I also found Wren to be somewhat immature given her age.
Overall this was a decent book to read. The really like the author’s writing style and the pacing of the book was really good.
