Wren is heartbroken when she finds out her fiancé is in love with someone else. She decides to spend the summer with her dad and step mom/step sister on a farm in the US. She meets her neighbor’s son Anders who has been spending more time on the farm to keep an eye out on his brother. Anders is still grieving from losing his wife four years ago and doesn’t plan on letting her go anytime soon. Both Wren and Anders start to develop feelings for each other and are forced to decide whether they will act on those feelings. Will they open their hearts up to each other?
This book sucked me in right away. I was so invested in everyone’s storyline and wanted everyone to have their happy ending. It’s unusual for me to love every character in a story but I did in this book. I feel like every character was struggling with a problem and it was amazing to see how they overcame them. The build up of Anders and Wren’s relationship was 100% worth the wait. I will now be adding more books from Paige Toon to my TBR!

This book was ADORABLE. I could not get enough of Anders and Wren.
Summary:
Wren is a woman who lived in the UK, but came to visit her family in America, after her fiance left her for someone else. She was heartbroken, and trying to learn to be comfortable around her family again, but ends up finding her place in her family. It was adorable to watch her relationship with her parents, and sister grow!
Wren falls for one of their neighbors on the farm next door - Anders. He is brothers with Jonas, and the son of Patrik and Peggy. It doesn't take long for their to be chemistry between Wren and Anders, however Anders holds back quite a bit. Wren is unsure why, until she finds out that Anders was married and lost his wife 4 years ago. Jonas encourages Wren to keep going after Anders, because he deserves to move on and find love again. However, on a trip to visit Anders in Indy, Wren finds out his secret. Ander's wife is not actually dead, but still alive in a vegetative state. She had no idea his wife was still living, and is thrown aback obviously. Now it makes sense to her why Anders is so closed off - he is still technically married, and feels guilty because he vowed Laurie "in sickness and in health", even though she has no thoughts, or feelings. She just has a beating heart. Wren is devastated when she knows it won't work between them, but all of their families end up convincing Anders that it is okay to divorce Laurie, and live his life again. So he does that, and he and Wren get married and it is SO CUTE :)

I was severely disappointed by the lack of heartbreak in the story. Reading the blurb and the title in itself gave me the impression that this book would have a depressing tragedy. The revelation, however, made me think 'Oh, okay', and just move on. I'm not against it if you'd like to give the book a go, but I'd recommend you keep your expectations low.
Anders is struggling with loosing his wife four years ago, he’s still trying to move on.
Wren has just suffered a heartbreak. To escape she leaves the UK and ends up at her dad and stepmoms door. She’s hoping that spending some time with them on their farm in Indiana will allow herself to get over her loss.
When Wren and Anders start developing feelings for each other, Wren starts considering the future, but Anders is harboring a huge secret. Will his secret be their undoing?
This was a slow burn, closed door romance story that felt more like a coming-of-age story. This book was also long coming in at 400 pages. I really felt the story was too long and drawn out. The pacing on it was incredibly slow up until about the last three chapters. I really just wanted more from this one. I felt that there was so much effort put into Wren trying figure out her life, then Anders keeping secrets. It just all rubbed me the wrong way. I did really enjoy the end where we saw some things from Anders perspective. I feel that if there more of his chapters throughout the book it would have been better.
This mentions its for fans of CoHo and Jojo Moye’s but I got strong Lucy Score vibes. This one is out April 25th – make sure to grab a copy.

I am torn with Only Love Can Hurt Like This. What I thought to be boring story, turns out to be good one. Miss Toon is relatively.new to me. I read one of her book before.
The story of farming is taking way too much of this book. I am not going to lie that I almost giving up. While the complicated romance is not as dramatic as I imagine.
But at the end, I like it.
