I thought for sure this book wasn’t going to do it for me after reading about 50 percent and feeling like it was slow. But after finishing it, I see that it was a much needed buildup to the culmination of the story. Ugh I could not read the pages fast enough towards the end. This was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. This story will stick with me for a while. The ending bumped it up to 4 stars for me.
