sadly, I did not enjoy this book at all. I don’t think the authors writing style is for me. I found the characters to be quite flat, especially wren. The title made it sound like it was going to be painful, it wasn’t. I was so bored by the end, I didn’t finish the last few chapters.

Wow. My heart went through so many emotions throughout this story and I’m so glad that I settled in for the long haul. I could’ve read about these families for longer than 374 pages. This book ticked all the boxes for me regarding a “heartbreaker”. The family bonds that were created and mended throughout were just perfect. I felt they were interjected just enough, but not too much as to overshadow Wren and Anders’s budding relationship. Wren was a classy and mature female protagonist that she just seemed like a breath of fresh air. Anders… such a lost soul and harboring a major secret that could damage their relationship. He was quiet and reserved, but so lovable.

Uhhh writing rlly cringe. They could’ve done w 150 less pages in the early-middle of the book. At least there was a plot twist towards the end
