i like how they solved everything in one day and when eventually revealed we are given no clues as to daisy or hazels thought process towards the solution, so when revealed to not just the people on the boat, it is also revealed to us. loved the plot and the characters and the idea of the breath of life is funny and creates an interesting motive for the suspects.

3 stars  - I enjoyed this! Twas rather predictable, and it’s middle grade/YA so I didn’t click with the pacing and writing style as I might have with an adult murder mystery novel. Naturally I only picked it up because it’s basically Agatha Christie’s Death On The Nile in middle grade form!

And there we have it, the final mystery solved.
We are told quite early on into the book that Daisy is going to die. ie. Theodora dies on one day and we are told that before the end of the next day Daisy will be dead too. However, naturally it is a very long day full of questioning and detection.
So we neared the end of the novel, almost seemingly running out of pages, I mean you couldn't just have Daisy die and then The End. There would have to be chapters on how everyone was sad, and then starting to go about their Daisy-less lives.

So of course there had to be another 'twist'
Felt a bit sad that Lavinina, Beanie etc didn't really feature.
I was quite fd up of Daisy by the end. She wasn't heroic, she was a narcissist. Everone is her pawn. Is May going to be a 'Daisy in disguise'? She already seems that way, although maybe that's because she's being the "naughty little sister" trope
