While certainly a product of its time (hello rampant racism, xenophobia etc), this is a rather fun little mystery with a twist I personally didn’t see coming. Worth a read if you’re a Christie fan, but be prepared to wince at several passages, descriptions and exchanges.

Agatha Christie is a timeless master for a reason. Another great novel from her. One that is worth reading again to collect more of the clues as it progresses. She is very good at hiding things in plain site for you to piece it together with the characters.

Despite mild typical English ethnocentric bigotry (mostly against Italians and Slavs in this case — although there is the backdrop of the colonization of Africa), this was a delight. One of my fav Christie’s ever.
