Been loving this mystery reading spree I’ve been on, but as it’s been Agatha Christie and Doyle, both who don’t present any non white characters in a favourable light, I need a break.
Still a great mystery though! Can’t wait to read the rest of Holmes and Watson’s adventures.

Great stuff, although maybe not quite as entertaining as A Study in Scarlet.

Loved the solving of the case, and of course Watson and Holmes, but some of the details of the crime and the large 'story' at the end from the wooden legged man were very tedious. 'Infodumps' is one way to put it. I guess I might just be used to the shorter short stories though, which I found brilliant.

while i appreciate the time in which this is written, the blatant racism is very hard to get past…
