Lama banget nggak baca buku-buku Sir Arthur lagi, jadi agak-agak lupa gimana metode sama pattern tulisannya.
Hmm, soal kecerdasan Sherlock udah nggak perlu dibahas lah ya, cuman kebiasaan buruknya agak bikin kaget karena di sini sebagai pembuka buku banget gitu. Kayak, apa ini efek samping dari kecerdasannya? Ya tapi who knows, aku pun kurang paham sama detail beliau.
Kasusnya sendiri nggak terlalu panjang seperti buku2 lain.

Graphic: Death, Drug use
As intricate crime stories go, no one can really beat Doyle. I really love that I can find some parallels to the BBC series, though a lot of the canon details have been changed to fit modern times. As it should be.
The Sign of Four was just crazy enough to leave me wondering if anything like this could ever have happened in London. A cannibal midget brought back from the wars? Hmm... Still!
The stories might be dated, but that doesn't stop them from being enjoyable, both in training my mind to see the clues, but also just because they are very well written tales. I am quite fond of Doyle's writing style. Occasionally I even need to use the 'define' option of my ebook reader, which the general novel doesn't need from me. All in all, excellent!
And I shall continue to read the original Sherlock Holmes tales.

This was much better than A Study in Scarlet. It's so interesting to see how Doyle's characters and writing develop. In this book, we begin to see Sherlock's cocaine addiction as well as establish him not as an anti-social know-it-all but rather as a man who is well-known and well-loved in the community for his impressive smarts.

These books are so hard to rate and review. I didn't really enjoy it as an entertaining book. It was a little slow and I had a hard time caring about the characters. Also it was a bit racist because it was written by an English man during the 1800s. But I did enjoy it as far as learning about the basis of the characters that I have loved since my childhood from shows like Mystery! and now Sherlock (but not Elementary). I would say that if you like classics or are interested in the Sherlock Holmes cannon, you should read it. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.
One of the short stories of Sherlock Holmes. Holmes' brilliant deductive skills are always a pleasure.
