LOVED this book. Smart, funny, with beautiful female friendships and scenery and a plot that made it unputdownable.

I loved the idea of this and am a sucker for books about book clubs (the strangers becoming part of each other's lives! The first time they lean on each other! Learning people's stories through them talking about books!) but this one was overall pretty anticlimatic and I was deeply annoyed/unsettled/intent in my certainty that the ending was All Wrong. Still love the idea of old ladies going to Paris, but these idiots they left behind need a good face-to-face eye roll.

Honestly, I just wasn't super into this book. It didn't pull me in. The friendship aspect was nice, but it was nothing special. The way it was written, switching from first to third person, confused me a bit. I had a hard time at first figuring out who was talking. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but if you read it you're not totally going to waste your time.
