4.5 for the story, 5 for the audible narrator. Oh the pain of being a middle aged middle class risk-averse average white dude in a world where your kids might not have to be like you.

An interesting Sci-Fi short story centering around the question of genetics. Can/should you 'tweak' your unborn child so it has traits you want? The story, through the look at what the child might. become, also looked at how unhappy a man is in a world of so much control, automation, and tech. I love Towles' writing.

What a great vivid story that takes you through some serious thought provoking ideas about fertility, science, the future, and relationships. It's like Black Mirror meets Brave New World.

I don't know how to feel about this one. It made me think, but it seemed petty and contrived overall. Like maybe the author was angry at someone while writing it.
