I liked the story, but it was not what I expected. I felt like more of it should have focused on the actual "future tech" component of the collection, but since the author is not a speculative fiction star, I am not surprised it took a more societal message and tone.
An interesting idea in concept, but the story falls flat after the reader leaves Vitek. Also, wasn’t keen at how apparent the male gaze was in this story. A rather messy read that doesn’t really go anywhere, honestly. Disappointing.
So far my least favorite of this series of short stories. I liked the premise but I think it was missing the extra layer of social commentary that the other stories have had. The ending was strange too
