The premise was interesting, but the way it panned out not so much. The whole gene nudging or editing concept is something which has been around for some time and a story around it is great, the characters were just okayish I guess.

I’m still thinking about this. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Could be 5 but I’m not sure “I get it” completely. It is beautifully written (no surprise) and the audio version with David Harbour reading was fantastic.

This is the story of a man, faced with 3 choices in the genetically “nudged” life of his unborn baby, who ultimately finds himself questioning his own life and choices. Thought provoking and well worth reading!

Loved the concept. Loved the writing. Loved the characters. Loved everything about this little story!

Very engaging, but the ending was a bit of letdown.

A bit like a twilight zone episode

as a psych major i feel i have the authority to say this family got some issues

I wish I never arrived at the end of this story. What did that bar counter ever do to anyone?

This story had such a promising start but lost its way. Could be the narration or the writing. Hard to tell when you are listening to an audio version. But after the third or fourth chapter I lost desire to finish the story. Which is why it took so long to finish. So far, the Forward collection has been mostly miss.
