Ame este libro de principio a fin. Hace mucho tiempo que no me leia un libro de una sentada. En un dia! Super suave, bonito y muy poco cliché. Una historian que te atrapa y te hace querer saber mas sobre que va a pasar despues.

Lou's life turns upside down when she finds another woman in her fiance's apartment. The day gets worse as she doesn't realize a food critic has decided to dine at her restaurant that night. The review is horrible and sends her restaurant into a downward spiral. Business keeps getting slower and slower. But on the bright side, she meets, Al, a freelance writer. They agree upon meeting to not talk shop, but what they don't know is they know each other. Al is the food critic who is putting Lou's restaurant out of business. When Al finds out who Lou really is, he goes out of his way to hide his true identity.

Fun and fast read. Now that I have finished reading I might just have to bake myself that coconut cake.

3 1/2 stars. What a heartwarming story. Favorite parts were Lou and her restaurant and Lou taking Al all over Milwaukee and opening up the city for him. Also loved the couple from the restaurant. There were some slow spots. Looking forward to reading another of her books😊

This was a cute and easy comfort read, and the recipe for the cake on the front is included so it might be fun to bake it!

For a better time, watch "You've Got Mail" and "Simply Irresistible". This had to be the most boring book I've read in years. The movies would go a long way towards showing how this book could have been edited down to a short novella.

3.5 stars! I love a book where the setting plays an important role and this one totally fit the bill. I love books that take place in New England, and even though this one didn't, it took place in the Midwest which is like New England's cousin.

This one really reminded me of Louise Miller and J. Ryan Stradal and I found it to the perfect mix of romance and foodie fiction. The characters were sweet and likable, the setting and food made me pining to go experience a Wisconsin summer, and the writing was good. Overall, a fun read and I'm looking forward to checking out more of Amy E. Reichert's work.
