Love Kristin Hannah. This book, another well-researched novel, presented a good picture of what life must have been like for so many who lived through the dust bowl and great depression. What an incredibly hard life. Great character development, as always, and a story that makes you want it to go on and on. Only one mystery that I would have been interested to see resolved—what happened to Rafe?

Kristin Hannah has a way of making me feel WAY too much. The mother daughter relationship in this book is so realistic and complex.

I have to admit it was a slow start, but I learned a lot and really enjoyed how the book came together in the end.
