Asked a friend for a recommendation that would make me giggle and kick my feet. This more than succeeded!

Where has this book been hiding?

Ok this was absolutely adorable. I loved that both the main characters had obvious flaws and complex interpersonal relationships. Every character had a background that gave meaning to their actions; even those that hurt the MCs. World building was fantastic. Loved all the redemption arcs that paid homage to people not growing overnight.
Most importantly, Horns and Peaches were PERFECT for each other. Grumpy sunshine goals.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: cheating (off page, by former lover), bigotry, systemic oppression, violence

I was debating between a 3 and a 4. So really it’s like a 3.5/3.65 stars. I really enjoyed the premise and the writing style. It was easy and fun and definitely took a route I didn’t expect. There were some technical issues I had in terms of the conflict but that’s just me nitpicking. I felt that it had some topics it was trying to touch on but never full took it there. For example, the issue between humans and mythical beings. I felt like the author wanted to say more but didn’t want it to become only about that topic so it was brushed over which left a little to be desired. Just meaning it could have been fleshed out more. Especially because both her dad and the commander had deep hatred and/or anger towards monsters. Would have liked to understand why. Overall though, it was just a fun read. Horns was super sweet and said all the right things. I loved how we really got to know him. On the other hand we got a little bit on Peaches motivations but she could have also been fleshed out a little more. Oh and I know we are supposed to forgive the sister but I’m sorry no! Nor do I forgive the ex, that was despicable. But there makeup scene was cute…I guess (lol I’m just petty) I’d recommend if you want a cute Minotaur story about a Minotaur obsessed with his plus size queen!

Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, spice was definitely only a 2 or 3 for me but still loved this book either way, it was funny and wholesome, the characters pulled you in enough and I've already bought book two <3

Book 2 is still my favorite but this was cute. The FMC has definite selfishness issues but don't we all. I didn't care for the ending, but will still be finishing the series.
