I've always loved this book as the ending of not just the main story but of many smaller tales. Not all are concluded but the ending seems pretty much perfect in many ways.

Many books suffer from a desire to reach a dramatic conclusion and close the story. This one takes time to close out the main characters stories nicely. With maybe only Silks impending wedding an unclosed story.

Having adventured with Garion and Belgarath for 10 books it is always rather sad to finish this one but I've read these books many times since I first read them aged 14 and they are still a good read and for me a good world to get lost in.

There is probably more ground breaking and complicated fantasy but you really can not beat the classic adventure against the odds type of tale this is!

The line about light and darkness is the highlight of the whole series. But also, it was just fun to read.

Reread. Good ending to the series. Looking forward to Belgarath the Sorcerer next.

I would have to re-read this series to fairly rate it, and I'm not going to do that. I greatly enjoyed it when I read it as a teenager, but not as much as the Belgariad. I suspect it would not hold up today, and given what we now know about the authors I have no interest in re-reading it to find out.

This is the fifth and final in the Malloreon series and finds all the separate threads being brought together in an intense and epic finale that is worthy of the series as a whole. Every character faces their own challenges with Garion is deceived into wasting precious time following red herrings set by Naradas and Cyradis having to face the choice between Light and Dark without the aid of her trusted Toth, risking everything in the process. Once again Eddings grips us with his characters and even though deep down we know all will be well there is a small element of doubt that keeps you reading to the very end. A tried and tested series that adds nothing but good things to the world.
