I didn’t realize I had read some of Kasie West’s books before until I started this but I have to say while this is not my favorite of her books, I still liked it and enjoyed reading it.
I really liked the last several chapters and I feel like if I hadn’t I probably wouldn’t have rated the book as high.
I also liked that there were some parts that were predictable and some that weren’t. I definitely didn’t expect the plot twist that happened towards the end (is it even considered a plot twist? I’m gonna call it one).
I liked Asher a lot and Wren was great too. Wren has some character growth and Asher didn’t really seem to but he was still great.
Overall, this was a cute, short read and I enjoyed it.

Kasie West really can't fail when it comes to romcoms, after reading all 16 of her releases (as of this review), she really is cemented as a true favorite in my heart.
I really appreciate that she tends to tackle issues and worries that a lot of teens experience; her novels never feel shallow to me. In this one alone we get, abandonment, self isolation, catfishing, lying, betrayal etc.
So I know some people were probably deterred by the synopsis, and how it mentions catfishing, but honestly that plot point, and the way it was handled and resolved didn't bother me. It added a fun element to the story, and it made for moments that kept me on my toes.
The romance was overall very cute. I found Wren to be extremely relatable, I too am overly sarcastic, and slow to trust people haha. Asher was so sweet, he very much embodies the term "golden retriever energy", with how open and warm he is, especially towards Wren.
But, I did have some issues.
Besides that, this was a very sweet and adorable romcom, and surprisingly it actually hit hard for me, and even made me cry a bit. Plus there was a cute and grumpy dog called Bean, so how could I not enjoy that? Hahaha

mostly just about the plot twist, and how it didn't click fully with what we knew of Asher. I did like how he tried his best to make up for it, and that he wasn't staring at TikTok all day, just waiting for the views to come in though.Besides that, this was a very sweet and adorable romcom, and surprisingly it actually hit hard for me, and even made me cry a bit. Plus there was a cute and grumpy dog called Bean, so how could I not enjoy that? Hahaha

It's been a while since I enjoyed and gobbled a book within 24 hrs.
This Asher boy is up there in my top 6 Kasie West MLs (not that i have rankings in the first place LOL) but i love the sunshine, hugger, kind he exudes 🤭
I had teary eyed moments here but also some that got me cringing, and flipping my kindle in the air out of giddiness lol. I really appreciate the easy reading I had here since I've been in a bit of reading slump these past few weeks and from the other book I'm also in the middle of reading
