This novel took me on such a journey from hopelessness and despair to joy and triumph that I cried both sad and happy tears. I don't think I've ever hated a character as much as I hated Lenn. Truly one of the best of the year!

Slow for the first 50-60% of the book. It did eventually pick up. I enjoyed Cynthia’s strong character and her willingness to turn back for the sake of saving another person.

This book was amazing! I have never hated Lenn so much and my goodness it was a relief to see the end of the book. Had me pacing back and forth throughout the last few chapters. Also the fact that the book always managed to keep me at the edge of my seat. Absolutely loved it.

This is very different from Will Dean's Swedish deaf journalist, Tuva Moodyson, thrillers. It's a very dark, very claustrophobic, tale of human trafficking and much worse (if that is possible). The tension is built up right through and the ending is riveting and compelling.
