Probably a 4.5 because the miscommunication trope was a little too… idk, long lasting? Obvious? Frustrating?
Doesn’t matter at all anyway
Read this in a day
LOVED IT
so cute
I do plan on diving into some more Ali Hazelwood books now!

i’m writing this review probably 6 months after i read it and i have to say this was a good book that served its purpose for me. it got me out of a reading slump and i enjoyed it. would i worship the ground this book theoretically walked on? no. once i realized it was a reylo fanfiction produced as an actual book it knock it down a peg for me. no hate or shame to anyone who loves this book. i am a sucker for grumpy and sunshine couples so i thoroughly enjoyed this part. i just can’t read it again without thinking of star wars.
Olive being a women in STEM is great but the representation felt very surface level. Adam felt sort of boring as a character, like his only purpose was to be contrasting to Olive and her sunshine personality. The writing itself was good, I just didn’t jive with their chemistry. After realizing it was a fanfiction based novel it all made sense. The first kiss scene was so unrealistic it made me want to scream from second hand embarrassment.
