This book is dope as fuck, I mean what else can I say? Made me realize at just 7 years old that sometimes people can be massive cunts that keep taking from someone and never giving. Plus the colors of the book were very stimulating for my little neurodivergent brain. 10/10

I thought his behavior would lead to consequences.

In real life, the tree will not speak but the boy would do the same.

I see this as a story of selfishness, not a story of selflessness. The boy is hearing things and thinks he has a right to take whatever he wants and takes from the cowed and defenseless.

I honestly don't understand why this was such a well known book...

I wanted to read something light and telepathically, my reading Buddy got the message and she recommended this fine book to me.

The book itself is a simple story of a relationship between a man and a tree and illustrates, how Tree(Mother Nature), is always giving, but demands of human never seems to end. It stops at his own death, or destruction of the things he gets fro free from Nature.

Now, Why this story is special. I have been told this story by my Mother, while I was a kid and only the tree was a Mango tree instead of apple tree in her story. I lost my mother very recently and this story initiated a chain of memories of my childhood with my mother. So this one made created a ambience of nostalgia and touched my emotional strings...

Loved it... All the stars to this one. Thank You Buddy.
