It just teaches you about current gender theories and systemic issues relating to gender (not limited to trans issues). Cool read but not very appealing to me, maybe because I might have already known of some of these theories.

If you are ready to go deeper into the concepts of gender and dabble in queer theory, this is the book for you. Cleverly illustrated and clearly written, it pulls no punches in describing gender in a neat hundred pages, though some might find it academic. This truly is meant to be an introduction to dismantling complex topics and challenging the reader to rethink the paradigm nearly all of us are born into. This is a book you chew, not devour.

Useful and informative with fun and inclusive illustrations. Definitely helped me solidify some theories I've been thinking about and has raised new questions too. A great introductory resource with lots of further reading recommendations throughout the book.

A great beginner to intermediate discussion of gender. Just enough facts and figures to back up discussion but not too much theoretical debating to scare away the more lay reader.
