How my moly!
This book made me feel irritation, sadness, angry and I f* cried. Like holy, I can relate to Catherine sooo much. Sometimes I was irritating about her choices, but when I thought about it I would’ve done the exact same thing.
The only thing I hold against her is that she didn’t call Jackson first. She owned it to him to call him first after pushing him away and making him leave. But then again, I probably would have done the same thing.
And holy f* what an ending.

Great read

I listened to these through Audible and found them to be very enjoyable.

Beloved: Catherine has had her heart broken and pours herself into work. She quite literally falls into Jackson’s lap but they don’t pursue anything more than flirtations. Until Catherine’s firm takes on Jackson’s as a client. They begin working closely and begin to fall for each other.

I’ll be honest, I started Beloved in December and just now finished so parts I forgot. But I got drawn back in quickly. It ends in a cliffhanger.

LOVED THEM

Let’s be real… there is no other romance author who can write like Corinne Michaels. I read everything she wrote last year, but not the salvation series.

This book was so raw and hit so many levels of wanting. The want to be wanted, the want to understand… I loved it.

I just finished the second book to this, and I’m headed to start the 3rd. Can’t stop won’t stop.

I really liked this book. It is a debut novel from Corinne Michaels and she has started her writing career on a high note. The main characters, Catherine and Jackson are absolutely amazing. Jackson is a former Navy SEAL and is now the owner of two major corporations. Catherine works in marketing and works for his cosmetics company to help them garner mass appeal. Her best friend is Ashton and she is a powerhouse of her own. Catherine is still recovering from the mess that is her ex-fiancée and her ex-friend Piper. The book does end on a cliffhanger. I enjoyed the writing and the dynamic of the characters. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to what happens next with these characters. I am very impressed by Corinne Michaels in producing such a great book as her debut. I commend her from the hard work she obviously put into this book.

This was my first Corinne Michaels read--and will not be my last! The hero and heroine first "meet cute," and then are reunited in a professional situation that absolutely SIZZLES. From there, the conflict and emotion come fast and furiously, aided by character development that is not only super well-defined, but beautifully written. Woven into this mix is sexual chemistry between the two that makes the chapters burn by beneath one's fingers. What I love the best about the book is the masterfully-written third act, which made the book simply un-put-downable. I've already one-clicked on the follow-up novel for this story, Beholden, and can't wait to dive in on finding out what happens after the "OMG" ending of this one!

Audience:
18+.
Characters:
Catherine: AKA Cat. She's beautiful but insecure. She's a successful PR rep working towards her next promotion. She longs to be enough.
Jackson: Hot, sexy CEO and ex Navy Seal. He's sweet and strong but he's hiding a secret pain.
Secondary: Ashton, Catherine's sassy best friend and roommate. Neil, Catherine's fiance and rival PR rep. Mark, Jackson friend and business partner. Piper, Catherine's frenemy.
The Plot:
Everything you need to know going in, is in the blurb.
The Feels:
First and foremost, as a long-time military spouse, I want to say THANK YOU to Corinne Michaels for getting the whole military hero thing right! I love a good military hero but it's so much better when it's clear that the author knows what she is talking about. I love how Cat kept calling him a soldier and he corrected her. Also the way that Jackson is portrayed rings so true to what a real military badass is IRL.
I was really worried that Jackson was going to end up being a typical alpha billionaire CEO, he was anything but. He was sweet and strong but not in such a way that seemed too good to be true. The dates that he took Cat out on were so awesome, not typical at all.
I love that Cat is all business when it comes to her career. She's insecure but strong where it counts. Damn that stupid twunt Piper.
This was an awesome debut that made me smile, swoon and scream. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. I think that Corinne is an author you'll want to keep your eye on, she's gonna do great things!
The Writing:
Awesome writing. She brought me into the story instead of just telling me about it. There's a uniqueness that seems recognizable and homey in her writing style.
Quotes:
"Maybe soon you'll hear all the noises I make."

"I'll never get enough of you. Mine goddammit. All fucking mine."

"Also, I'll make a mental note--you're more agreeable when I fuck it out of you."

*I received an ARC from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the first part of this duet. The hero is strong, determined, knows what he wants and goes for it. The heroine has been hurt, used to men walking out on her, and expects it of the hero. A little predictable with the cliffy. Heroine could use a backbone. Overall, entertaining and enjoyable. Well written.

This was ok. I didn’t realize it was going to be military fiction. I’m not a huge fan of books including military.
