If it weren’t for Jackson, I would have given this a one star. I love the authors other books but I couldn’t stand Catherine. I am not nearly invested enough to care how their story ends so I will be skipping the next book.

Just ok. Not my favorite trope, plus a 3rd act breakup. Yuck! Ends on a Major cliffhanger too. The spice was good tho. The best part of the book.

3.5⭐️Earlier this month I read The Consolation Duet and fell in love, so of course, I am now making my way trough the entire Salvation Series. As this is Corinne’s debut novel, I found the writing to be not as great as the many other books I’ve read by her. Still this was a swoony story! I listened to the audiobook, which is available on audible plus and am going right into the sequel as it ends on a cliffhanger.

Catherine and Jackson- omg wow. this book was such an emotional read. it had me in all my feels. it starts out with her fall on his lap and from there you can tell how strong their chemistry is. then come to find out that Jackson is one of Catherine's new clients. both of them have a lot of things to work through from their past, but you get to see a lot of growth happen. it was an easy read/listen and the cliff hanger going into book two was....dang!!!!

4 stars

tropes:
- military
- alpha male

It was good, but it didn’t grab me
A lot of the plot fell flat for me, very predictable romance.
I will still read the second book in the duet to find out what happened
