I know I am reading a book that will stick with me when I start to be inspired to write a book myself. The poetic descriptions of food, the self commentary of Roberta towards herself, and the portrayals of all the men culminate a beautiful yet disturbing depiction of life as a woman. I constantly felt that I wanted to be apart of her life, be apart of the Supper club, but also grateful I haven't had the interactions she has had, and wondering why she made the choices she did. The type of book that is making me get back into reading. Loved it.

If only this book was more about the supper club. I think I’d have enjoyed it so much more if I wasn’t so excited about reading about the supper club. For a book about women we sure spent a lot of time with men.
