I adored this, the pacing was probably the best i’ve seen in a romance book. It wasn’t quick but it wasn’t slow to the point i didn’t care anymore. The rivalry was actually believable and i resonated in a couple ways with Natalie. Great way to start off 2022

The mc was a total idiot and so many things just didn’t make sense/weren’t explained.

I have to give the book that it made me laugh a few times. But I don’t think you should blow a third act problem in this dimension, because this is a serious trust issue, and not just some misunderstanding. I jumped to the ending and it didn’t seem like the problem got resolved in any meaningful way. Reid just crushed his audition, her dad was there and everything was fine and I don’t think that’s how you should just resolve the issue because it is a big issue in this relationship. And in the end it was like “I never hated you. I always liked you want to act like I hated you was the only way to be close to you.” I would like to read a enemies to lovers or rivals to lovers where both parties really hate each other, despise each other or something like that and then resolve this problem not to have something like “I liked you since the beginning.”

I don't know if I'm in some sort of reading slump or if I'm just overly mental tired at the moment. I was excited to read a book with theatre because it was one of the clubs, I was in at school and I loved it to pieces. But this book had me thinking about DNFing it a lot. I don't really know why though. I found the pacing to be ok, so maybe it was the characters I didn't exactly enjoy.

It's okay. The conflict is was too serious to be resolved so easily.
