This was so silly and so fun. It was exactly what I wanted it to be.
From the technical side of things, there were times when the details in the scene wouldn't be consistent, would re-listen to something and be like wait? How did they end up in this position? But rather than an editing issue, I just took it to be consistent with my experience with d&d type games.

The beautiful cover matches the interiors impeccably written love story. No knowledge of Critical Role is needed to appreciate Guinevere and Oskar’s journey. I anticipated this being like Legends and Lattes, which it is to some extent, but I was surprised by the explicit scenes (given it’s a romance I shouldn’t have been … but still I was lol). Some characters I greatly enjoyed: Vindicator, Pudding, & Teinidh.
Detraction of partial star bc Fitzalbert, Lord Wensleydale, did not need to turn out to be such a pompous ass (I mean I suppose it matches his revealed character in the end and the story’s depiction of the upper crust; however I think it would’ve made Guinevere’s choosing of Oskar stronger to have her not be find out she chose to not marry a limp noodle of a “man”). I despise Illiard, and don’t agree with Guinevere’s choice to give her parents the ring (they don’t deserve anything), though I understand why she did it.

"Life could get hard and mean, but I didn't have to be."
The second I heard the announcement that Critical Role was going to be bringing Tusk Love to life outside of Campaign 2, I knew it was going to be 5 ⭐ read. The way Guanzon was able to bring, what originated as a silly joke between friends in a D&D campaign (thank you Liam for forcing Matt into creating Chastity's Nook and ultimately Tusk Love and then Laura for not letting the joke die throughout the entirety of the campaign and beyond), to not only bring it to life but embody the world of Exandria and build up meaningful plot and character development - unbelievable work!
While I believe someone doesn't need to be familiar with Critical Role Campaign 2 to enjoy Tusk Love, it is most definitely worth the 550+ hours of watch time to get the little references made throughout the story. And no I'm not joking - watch it, it's perfect.
