The stories of the women of the Trojan war deserved to be told and they were told with grace here. Lovely.
This was amazing. I loved all the women's stories, how they weaved in and out. Some were very famous, such as Penelope or Cassandra, while some I had never heard of before, like Laodamia. What I appreciated most about this collection was how each woman's individual voice shined through. I never had trouble mixing up the characters because Natalie Haynes does an excellent job of distinguishing each woman's personality through her writing.

If you loved Song of Achilles or Circe, you'll absolutely love this book. Haynes tells the untold stories of the women of the Trojan war, their silent rebellions and open outrage. The women that were overlooked or diminished have their stories told, and I particularly loved the inclusion of Calliope from beginning to end and how she compelled the poet to write the tales of these women. It reminds you/makes you think of all the stories that haven't been told of women throughout history simply because they're women. To think of what thoughts went through their head, how they felt, how they loved, cried, and died. The way that their actions reverberate through history.
I can't say enough how brilliant Natalie Haynes is!
