This was so beautifully written! I particularly enjoyed Calliope and Penelope's chapters.

Could have done without the huge chunk of the book that was just retelling Odysseus, but the rest of the women's stories (that were actually about the women), were a treat.

Odysseus found dead in a ditch, Penelope absolutely obliterated his ass with those letters.

This is a rough one to rate because a four feels too high but a three feels too low?? Ultimately, I loved some chapters of this while others were difficult for me to get through, but I'm always partial to retellings that center women.

This book hurt my heart. A powerful read and something to make one think about the different perspectives during times of conflict. But, oohh, my heart.
