Unfortunately this book falls into the category for me of fantasy books that introduce just a few too many concepts for me to fully engage with the story. It's a not a terrible book, but there is just so much to remember and learn that it became a bit of a slog, especially coming into the third act.

Male narrator's voice made this unreadable I'm afraid 😳 also the french accents were NOT it...

The relationships were written so beautifully (and every other positive word you can think of) !
My heart kept being chocked at the end like someone was electrifying me at an illegal mental asylum.
Something felt missing though esecially at the beginning, it was brief though. Might be because of my mood.
Although this book definitely cheered me up and devastated me at the same time.

Probably closer to a 3.5 for me… but I love it when fantasy is mixed with history and mythology.
I wouldn’t say I was a fan of the authors writing style, but I still became so invested in the characters by the end of the book that I think the second will be on the TBR list soon.

some chapters were a little too slow sometimes but overall it was great. I fell in love with all the characters and that's what kept me going, I think I'll love the sequel now that I'm familiar with them.

so if you like found families with unique characters and a heist (and six of crows) I think this book's perfect for you !

First of all I want to say that I loved this book so much. The writing was truly one of the best ones I have ever seen. what i also loved so much is the fact that this book has found family trope and im a sucker for it. i actually fell in love with all the charaters and the chemistry between hypnos zofia and enrique and also between severinlaila is insane. Id also like to say that the plot was incredible and so was world building. Last 100 pages had me gasping all the time and the ending leftme SHOCKED. i loved how every part of the plot unfolded and one could never see the plot twists coming. everyone should read this book im so serious
