Alessa Thorn rules. Loved this and was sad when it ended.
This series has truly been a pleasure to read. I know when I pick up one of these books I'm in for a good time.
Anubis is more... feral... than the other gods we've met so far. Which I guess makes sense, since this series as a whole kicked off with Asterion, another being more feral than the others. Either way, seeing him work with his more animalistic side was very interesting, especially as he treated them as two entities: the God and the Jackal. I really enjoyed reading about him.
Tahira is another in a long line of interesting and varied female characters in this series. I really loved her devotion to her job and Egypt and the dead. It's easy to see why she appealed to Anubis. She has a very rocky relationship with her sister, but adores her nephew. And as some one who also adores her own nephew I relate to that very strongly. Nephews are the best.
All in all, I love this series. Of the ones in this vein I have explored, this might be in my top three (this vein being spicy, ancient, gods in modern settings). I'm sad to see it go, but happy to have found it.

Oh my gosh. Alessa has done it again! Daddy Anubis is my favorite and those Easter eggs at the end were superb. I think I’ll binge these books again.
