all of the books should be one book. i finished this so fast and i think i would have enjoyed reading the entirety of the series as one book because it ends on a CLIFFHANGER!!!!???!?!! absolutely not brother. i also just think that there wasn't enough umph to it, i don't even know. her immediate fascination with him didn't develop for long and i wish it had more time, i wish there was more build up. that being said, oh my god. what the fuck. that was fucked up.
I had this book recommended by a friend and I was warned about the detail of it. However, I only managed to get to about page 40/50 because it was beyond intense. The amount of detail with the horrific scenes set me back and I couldn't read any more. I'm sure it's a really good book when you get properly into it but I personally couldn't get passed the horrifying details of abuse and rape. I'm quite a sensitive reader and I like a bit of emotion but this book got too much and made me feel sick at times.

so i told myself at the start of the year that i was definitely going to read a "dark romance" book and finish it , well here it was i put it of so much that when i eventually went to start reading i was already putting myself off the damn book , i mean how could i like a book about the sex slave trade ............. THE REAL QUESTION IS ....... HOW COULD I NOT? the story captivated me i was hooked from the beginning at times i was so angry with myself for liking Caleb and then id hate myself for hated him i was constantly in a love hate relationship with this book and i loved that i never knew what was going to happen next
the book was certainly a head *bleep* and although i didnt think id enjoy that aspect i did .... i REALLY liked it .... moral of this story always give a book a chance u might not think ul like it and end up giving it a 5* review

I give it 2.5 stars. I don't know, I just really lost interest in this book about halfway through and half read-half skimmed the rest of the book. I just didn't really like the way things progressed so I probably will not be reading the other books.
This was such a mind-fuck of a read!! It really keeps you enthralled in the story - the characters are so relatable and you just can't help but be emotionally invested in their story! There is definately a love/hate relationship that the reader develops with Caleb - even though he himself admits to being a monster. Definite must read, only for older readers due to circumstances in the book, and especially for the readers like myself who LOVE the darkness that this story revels in!!
ok maybe it is just me... Maybe I am crazy. I just can not get with the whole falling in love with the guy who kidnaps and abuses me thing. I will admit that after reading another book sort of similar to this that I actually enjoyed... I kept skipping over this title because well... I did not think that I would or could get behind the idea of the book.
I am not saying that the writing was not excellent. because it was. The background story was solid and made you believe WHY Caleb was doing what he was doing. And maybe even why Livvie was able to hold onto this ideal. But in the way of this genre it was almost too predictable what was going to happen since it seems to almost follow the formula.
