It was an interesting read and while I did enjoy it, I do not think the horror genre is for me. I liked the storyline but I hated the ending. I was not very surprised by it and it's a fine ending, but it was not the ending I wanted. What originally drew me to this book was the vibes of eldritch horror as the main baddie, but as the story went on, that concept faded from possibility.

Absolutely gorgeous cover and awesome story. I really appreciated how the author was able to hold my attention the whole book. There was never a moment where I felt bored or taken out of the story. I did this half on ebook and half audiobook and both were brilliant ways to enjoy this book. If you like cosmic horror that is modern and unique you’ve come to the right place.

I didn’t want to put this book down! I loved everything about it. The 90s nostalgia is so good. The mystery kept me guessing (and just when I had an idea of what I thought would happen next, Van Wey surprised me). Oksana is such a creepy and interesting character. Who wouldn’t want to read this book just based on the cover alone?!

Rounding up from 2.5 stars, but overall just okay. I really enjoyed the body horror but not sure if I liked where this story went theme wise. Audible.

POORLY WRITTEN. The rate experience of the cover /title being far better than the writing.
