Phenomenal. Slightly dated at this point but nonetheless the most enjoyable natural history anthology I have read to date.
Absolutely loved this book! It was informative, witty, and well balanced. It is very much a history book, but it has a surprising amount of in-depth explanations for scientific facts/concepts that I personally enjoyed even more than the historical anecdotes. If you’re looking for a sciencey book that covers a lot, while still being very much introductory, I highly recommend!

Like some other Bill Bryson books I've read, I find them mostly very interesting and at times laugh out loud funny, interspersed with chapters of utter boredom. This one had a big part in the middle which I almost didn't get through. Other than that, good book filled with SO much information you'll never remember but is fun to have touched upon!
