Quick read but only because I skipped at least a dozen pages of repetition and nonsense.

Random ass European mobs take over a big ass unnamed city, okay sure.

Random ass sidekicks (what is going on here with all the sidekicks, anyway???) that just happen to be as badass as Reacher, okay gettin a little weird now but whatever.

State of the art cancer curing medicine is at a facility that happens to have a cash only window??? Okay now we're just getting silly...

Reacher murdering EVERYBODY, with a minimum double digit body count in the span of an hour? Okay this is getting to be a little ridiculous.

And then the big reveal is FAKE NEWS? Okay, I can't suggest this to anyone unless they've read the 23 other Reacher books.

Reacher is smart and deadly as always.

Blue Moon lacks a real element of suspense, everything is clear as day from the get go. There are good guys and lots of bad guys, bad guys do some very nasty things to good guys and Reacher keeps punishing them for it all book long.

It's satisfactory and at times it feels like classic Reacher, but similar to Past Tense, Blue Moon lacks the finesse of the older books, as the plot doesn't really have a lot to offer. No twists or turns, no surprises, no mysteries, not a lot of character development. It reads like vigilante porn. Which isn't a bad thing and this in itself is a huge part of the whole Reacher experience anyway so we can say all is well with the newest entry in the Reacher series.

On the other hand, there have been much much better books in the series because they had deeper and relatively more sophisticated stories. And seeing as those books are mostly the earlier entries in the series, one can't help but wonder whether Lee Child has lost the motivation to write impactful books. I believe he still enjoys writing but he's beginning to lose his energy to make a difference.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Past Tense either. Blue Moon in some aspects is a huge improvement but in hindsight the slower moving plot of Past Tense now seems like an underrated gem.

In the end it's still Lee Child and it's still Jack Reacher so it's still the same thrilling experience. But if Lee Child really is losing his will to keep on writing, I'd like Reacher to go out on a higher note than this.

I'm still trying to decide what I think of this book. I've read all of the books in the series and have even pre-ordered the last few to include this one. Another reviewer mentioned that this book is pure escapism - and that's true. Little to no character development just action scene after action scene. Which is fine. However, some of it just seemed ludicrous to the point of being comical.

One reason I like the Bosch series is because as the series has gone on the character of Harry Bosch has continued to develop and grow. The same can't be said for Reacher.

While the book was still enjoyable I think I'll wait for the next one to come out in paperback.

Not my favorite Reacher - not as much discussion of coffee and his toothbrush.

I don't think the death count has been this high ever in a Reacher story. Still it is a Reacher adventure and I'm a sucker for all things Reacher. Sadly, now I have to wait a whole year for the next one. I have to settle for Diane Capri and Dan Ames books while waiting and hopefully there will be a tv show coming. Lee Child has made a character that many writers try to copy with different levels of success.

Another great Jack Reacher novel! If anything better than his recent outings. While there is little in the way of tense “thrill” to this thriller, the outcome is predictable, it rockets along at a pretty good pace and there are enough interesting characters to make the plot interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed and first of my 2020 books finished!

As always, entertaining, a little scary at times, and Jack shows his compassion and skill. I won't say whether he prevails...but he's quite the hero.
