So good to see villain omegas in OMV. And an FMC who is both a badass and soft. I love the way this story unfolded. Could have used a bit more bonding on page between the pack, but overall this was a solid read.

A bit anticlimactic - I kept waiting for something huge to happen and it never did.

The first half of this omegaverse book was like 4 ⭐️'s, but then the second half quickly devolved and felt like it was taking several steps in the wrong direction.

What I liked:
  • Jo Walsh being an unapologetic and devious criminal hottie (at times). She had Aelin energy in certain moments but couldn't maintain it. I wanted her character to be fully batshit and hot, instead she is more wishy-washy and lukewarm
  • The foiled bank robbery. I loved how Jo adapted to the situation and played the boys to still take the cash
  • When Jo tracks the boys down and takes them and their employees down one by one before escaping via their own stolen car
  • Some aspects of the male characters, especially when they were into Jo's villainy. No wonder Mac was my favorite - he was the only true psycho

What I didn't like:
  • The "bad guy" being both Jo and the boys' boss, especially considering they couldn't figure it out until the very end. I just wasn't into the whole conflict in terms of her trying to take back the jewel to protect her family. She should have been either honest with the boys and asked them to help her way earlier or (and I think this is the more interesting choice) she should have been outmaneuvering everyone the whole time with a brilliant plan to take down the boss for good. Unfortunately, it was neither
  • The back and forth between the different men and Jo throughout - after they "capture" her, I think they should have been like "you're ours and you aren't leaving." Their outward uncertainty and lack of commitment dragged for way too long when their inner monologues were like 😍

well, this was a disappointment. The writing on this felt juvenile and lazy. There were so many jumps in time, where we didn't actually see the action. We were just told about it after.
at the end, when they actually kill the bad guy. We don't even know about it. It is a offhanded throwaway comment. Yeah, he's dead. Great. So I just spent an entire day reading a book and I did not even get the climax.

This is bullshit. This is bull. shit. The sex was lacking. Even the knitting was bland! HOW DO YOU MAKE KNOTTING BLAND?!

The only redeeming quality of this book was Mac. I would take 100 books about Mac. As it is now, I will never read this author again.

This was pretty dang good! If you’re looking for a spicy, exciting, and dark-ish stand-alone book, this might just scratch that itch.

I will say, the author could have taken the “unhinged/psycho” aspect of the mmc’s a *little* further. Idk if my threshold for this type is higher than average or if it was played a little on the safe side. Not gonna think too hard about that tbh.

Other than that, I liked all the characters and the story was fast paced and never felt heavy despite dealing with darker topics.
