Characters:
Jo, Vette, Lark, Mac
Synopsis:
Overall: 3.4/5
This book was good and meh. Each guy had their own traumas and the 'cat and mouse' games between them and Jo was entertaining. I guess my real hang-up was that it just seemed to feel very surface-level. You'd get a bite but it never got delved into or explored. And then the ending felt rushed and a little like whiplash with the last weird plot twist (really wasn't needed). None of it was bad overall but it I feel like somewhere along the way the author tried to juggle too much and not dig in deep to what was already developing.

I kind of figured out the bosses were the same dude so that wasn't really as mind-boggling as intended.

I received this book as a holiday gift of "blind date with a book" so I knew nothing about it until I opened it and read the trigger warning list...after a quick giggle, I started the book. The only thing of complaint I would say is, it's mentioned right away that they aren't shifters, but they still have all the shifter traits (minus actually shifting) so I found that that took away from the story a bit, but that's because I'm so deep into the shifter world of reading right now, nothing against the writing or author! Other than that I liked everything about Jo, Mac, Vette, and Lark, loved the story and all the dark themes in it!

Incredible!
Sometimes you read a description before publication and get infatuated with a story waiting for the day you can read it. This happened here and I was worried I’d be let down but IT WAS EVERYTHING.
All the characters are twisted and sweet in their own ways and it was written in such a natural way. I’ve read a few dark/mafia romances where everything sounds so forced, but I could actually imagine all the dialogue. Even the twists and turns added to the story rather than distracted from the character building and overall story line.
Even more- I didn’t find any grammar errors which completely can take you out of a story!

This was a pretty surface level story. The plot could have been developed more and the relationship between the FMC and MMCs never got that deep. The ending was also way too quick and told in a bad way. There were many different ways to go about it that would have made it feel not so rushed and not give me whiplash with everything that happened in like five pages. It also felt like the author forgot to put some parts in so they were quickly thrown in at the end and it felt very choppy and random.
I liked the beginning of this book and the characters well enough but I wish we got more of everything. Even the spice felt rushed. Even though it was an omegaverse, it didn’t really feel like one. Just like everything else, it was kind of just there but not developed enough to really blend into the story. Overall, it was entertaining but very surface level and went downhill as the story progressed.

This was fine. It took me a really long time to finish it, particularly after a really exciting start where it was revealed the omega is a complete badass. I was really hoping to see more of that.
Instead, it just kinda dragged a bit. The relationships with all of the men were kinda surface level, and the drama with Lark felt completely manufactured and blown out of proportion. I didn't really buy that any of them were in love.
I'm also realizing that I'm more and more bummed by RH's without any sword crossing. These men live together, know each other's entire backstories and trauma, gangbang together, and yet can't even make out a little bit? :D
I'd probably recommend it to someone who's new to the omegaverse/RH worlds, I think.

I really enjoyed this omegaverse. I was nervous going in because I didn't really love the other book I read by this author, but I am such a fan of crazy characters who *gasp* aren't mean to their significant other(s). As long as the crazy doesn't mean bullying, I am here for it. And this book was full of OTT morally grey villainous alpha men who very much wanted their OTT morally grey omega.
This wasn't the typical omega story where Jo hates being an omega, but she also isn't a simpering whiny omega either. She doesn't let being an omega define her. She just wants to be a thief and live her best life. She's fine with mating with a pack of alphas as long as they also get her lifestyle, but that's definitely easier said than done. Until she meets them at a bank heist gone wrong. And then it's just epic from there on to the end.
