Man, you should not be reading this at night or if you're on a diet. All the talks of sweets and pastries made me so hungry I had to go get myself a cookie in the middle of the night! lol.
Yes, the story is cute and sweet but it didn't offer anything different from other romance novels.

Overall, good enough to read but not a must.

Heartfelt Journey of healing.

I just finished.. and this woman's writing!! My heart is full. No better praise than that.

I love Hockey books because of the Brotherhood, the created family that most authors bring to the table.

To read a story about an early death of career, in which you define yourself was heartwrenching. I felt all the emotions for Lucian.

Emma had been wrung out to dry and was grieving in her own way.

These two broken souls come together and help heal each other and it was such was wonderful journey!

I love so much about this book and , gosh, the FOOD, in it was so good!! Seduction by pastries yum!!

The side characters, Lucians family were so fun and interesting! Mamie is precious!

P.S. i love Jacob Morgan's voice!! *fans self* such sexy scenes!!

Kristen Callihan is hands down one of absolute favourite romance writers and I gladly pick up anything that she publishes. I adored Make It Sweet, and loved the tie-ins to Dear Enemy that she included. Lucian and Emma have great chemistry, and Callihan does angst like no one else. It is a slower story from her, but a wonderful story about when you lose your way in the world, as I imagine many of us feel right now, and learning how to love yourself again so you can find your path and the people you love again. My only warning, this book may make you hungry with all of its descriptions of delicious pastries.

Mi piacciono sempre i modi di raccontare della Callihan. Un po’ meno l’istant love però c’era tanta dolcezza in questo libro quindi alla fine mi è piaciuto comunque.

It definitely had it's sweet moments, but was honestly a little boring. I was also gonna give it a better rating, but I took away a star because of Luc just being a dumbass.

3.5

I initially rated this 3 stars but screw it, I'll give it a 4 cause it was fun. (nvm I changed my mind I'm editing reviews rn) .The book follows a recently retired hockey star and an actress whose character was killed off on a Game Of Thrones type show. Both are grieving the major changes in their lives and are staying at a California estate to take a break from reality and re-evaluate their choices.

This book had major mid-2000s romance movie vibes. I really liked the conflict, I thought that it was fleshed out and it didn't fall into the typical third-act breakup trap so it was extremely refreshing. The family dynamic was SO cute I loved Amalie and Sal.

I need more books with the whole "grumpy athlete who's a great baker" aesthetic because WHEW it's hot.
Now I don't wanna be a little negative nelly but there were some sentences that made me cringe a little (not violently) but it was there.

Other than that this was a fun start to 2022

Delicious

This book was delicious- from the buildup between Luc and Emma, to the descriptions of the decadent desserts he created. I truly enjoyed this book. It was a slow burn but it had me hooked from the first chapter. And once it reached its boiling point… Whoo things got spicy.
This book had just the right amount of angst. I wanted to shake Lucian and make him see what was right in front of him as I’m sure Emma did, but I really liked how she let him go to discover that for himself. The side characters were really great, especially Amalie and Sal.
This was my first read by this author and will definitely be checking out her backlog.

my heart oh my god
lucian and emma were just absolutely perfect they were so sweet and so cute my heart absolutely could not handle it
i like them both so much from the start their banter and teasing we’re everything to me and honestly my favorite part of the book there was also discussion of physical abuse that i thought was handled well overall these two and mamie and sal have my heart
