I FUCKING LOVE THIS BOOK

this was a fun read, LOL
it made me wanna fall in love w a baker who's obsessed w me and making special desserts for me
also it def had some parts that made me laugh out loud lmao

This book just wasn’t for me. Not really much happened and what did happen was very predictable. I felt like there was very little character development or growth. It did have several very detailed sex scenes and lots of talk about food in sexual ways. I wanted to like this book but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I enjoyed this story so much! Emma and Lucian will hit you in ALL the feels!! This is the first book I've read by Kristen Callihan and I will definitely be reading more!

It started out promising, but my god was it a chore to finish in the end. Very corny. At least the writing was pretty in some places.

This book just made me hungry for pastries.

I've read a few of Kristens books (whether on Kindle or in the past on Apple books). Loved em. this one fell flat for me. Can't exactly tell you why as I am stupid and waited months to write the review but I remember being bored and also annoyed. 2.5/5 stars

Emma is a famous actress, she is part of a big show but not for long, she is leaving the show which comes in the wake of her breakup. In order to protect herself from all the attention, she goes to her grandmother's friend place, a secluded location where she can avoid everyone, but she can't avoid the people who are already there.

Lucian is a retired hockey player, the retirement was his decision but he is anything but happy about it. His grandmother is there for him, offering him a place to stay and help him stay occupied.

This book made me craving sweets and pasties. There is a number of pastries in the story and the description is delicious!

This is one of the sweetest romance books I have read lately. Their chemistry is apparent from their first meeting but this is a slow burn which combined with the close proximity brings the tension to a whole different level. Once they decided to give in to their feelings the pay off was truly worth it.

4.5⭐️ Make it Sweet is a contemporary romance that won my heart over !!! It’s a story about two people, both working through some tough life changes, who’s paths cross when recovering at a private estate in California. Emma is an actress who is unexpectedly getting booted off her current hit TV show while Lucian is a NHL player who is forced to retire from the game he loves due to a head injury. Despite their previous failed relationships, losses with their careers, and some emotional baggage, Lucian and Emma start to lean on each other and form an incredible connection. I was instantly invested in their relationship and loved how the two supported and grew with each other.

While not marketed as a series, the two main characters from Dear Enemy show up in this book a bunch of times, so I would 100% read that book first. Also, there is a lot of overlap between the two books (e.g., use of nicknames, prior family abuse, love for food, older motherly figure). Not that it was a bad thing but I’d probably wait to read them both back to back like I did.

Read if you like:
-Forced proximity
-Instant attraction
-Witty laugh-out loud banter
-Hero who is “finding himself”
-Books that discuss post-concussion syndrome in athletes
-Baking and French pastries
-Cute nicknames
