Lucian has my heart!!

I listened to this book on KU free Audio, it was super cute, and I found myself listening to it more so than when I was driving because i couldn't wait. (I usually only have 1 audio book i'm listening to while driving and only when driving.)

3.5⭐

Sweet, heartwarming and beautiful romance.
I enjoyed the writing and how the characters have grown into falling in love and overcoming some bad twists of fate in their past.
It makes for a great lighthearted romance with swoons banter and some steamy scenes that many lovers of the genre will enjoy immensely.

This is my favorite book of 2023 so far! Absolutely loved this love story!

→ instant attraction/love
→ matchmaking grandma
→ finding refuge in the same place
→ close proximity
→ baker mmc
→ lgbtq supporting main character
→ dual POV
→ disgustingly sweet pet names
→ taking care of the other character scene

2.5 out of 5 stars

This book was... sweet, as the name would suggest. Too sweet and fluffy for my taste which isn’t bad, but I couldn’t really find myself caring for the two main characters. I was more interested in Sal. If you knew me, you’d know how much I hate instant love sort of tropes so this was... not it. Lucian and Emma were getting turned on by each other by eating or cooking—they were basically eye fucking everywhere. It has been like, a day or something, chill.

Also, the nicknames they had for each other were... not it. I found myself cringing at times. Brick? Honey pie? It felt unnatural.

The only upside about this book is the cameo of Delilah and Macon—and a wedding, nonetheless. But everything else, I found very meh and lackluster.

Maybe this might suit your taste, though.
