The story keeps getting more thrilling! The dynamics between the characters and Grace’s journey being thrusted into the paranormal world is warming my heart. GORL, I cried towards the end of this. I’m emotionally invested now. Also, we finally got a little hint of spice.

Like the books in the middle of the Percy Jackson series, this to me just dragged on & on.

The first book in this series "Crave" seems to have absolutely no impact on the following books. It could be a stand alone and while “Crush” and the following novels could be an entirely different series as its plot has no impact on the sequels. I wanted to see Grace and Jaxon love each other despite their bond being broken, not for Grace to be over him instantly. Not a fan of her and Hudson, definitely still team Jaxon but it looks like Wolff ships Hudson and Grace so thats whats happening. (Also why is every kiss they have interrupted? Like every single one, these books are so predictable but I’m starting to know what’s going to happen before I even finish a sentence.)
I really enjoyed the stronger plot line in Covet, they have lots of items to find and people to meet which gets Grace out of the school and more involved in the fantasy world which I loved. The chapters where they’re imprisoned are my favourite, I liked Remy and Calder’s characters and the prison setting, this gave the novel a new edge and featured new magic. I loved the Hex yard scene and their battles to get into the Pit - however of course Grace doesn’t get tortured, she’s far too special for that. Seeing Hudson’s torture wasn’t very interesting, of course it was focused on Grace, but I would have preferred seeing his regret for the people he had to kill to prevent war. If the guys going to be in the book, I’d like to know more about him besides his romantic interest. Also, Vander is adorable and needs to be protected.
The war is really starting to brew now and we see some battle scenes which I’m hoping lead up to a big battle in the last book. During a fight between Cyrus’s army and the protagonists, Flint gets seriously hurt. Jaxon who has lost his soul (thanks Grace) and is close to death sacrifices the last of his power to heal him. He dies but his sacrifice saves Flint, or so we think. Nuri (Flint’s mother) gives up her magic to save Jaxon, god knows why but I have a feeling that Wolff is going to change the storyline AGAIN, to make Jaxon’s character gay, so him and Flint can get together. None of the characters were originally presented as LGBT, so this and Flint’s character coming out seems very last minute and like an afterthought, so I’m not for it.
Also, can Wolff please just drop the once a book mention of Heather? Her character is so unnecessary and it has been since the first book. Obviously she was needed for the backstory, but she could never be mentioned again and I wouldn’t notice. Despite all my complaints, I’m absolutely hooked and flying through this series.
Justice for Jaxon Vega.
